「したがって，DD のおよぼす害は教理的に疑わしい一般的な公式声明がもたらす害と同じである．そういう代物（しろもの）（ “as such” ）であるにもかかわらず，DD はこれまでのところ『撤回（てっかい）』も『破棄（はき）』（ “withdrawn” or “rennounced” ）もされていない（ ” “The harm done by the DD is therefore that of a doctrinally dubious public statement.

ご紹介した記事はフェレー司教が DD を公式に撤回（てっかい）しない問題をいたって控（ひか）えめに取り上げています（ “This article states very moderately the problem of the DD not being publicly recanted or retracted by Bishop Fellay.” ）．だが，いかなるカトリック信徒団でも，その長（ “Superior” ）が真実を頑（かたく）なにもて遊ぶとしたら，信徒たちははたして真実を守り，真実のために奉仕（ほうし）できるでしょうか？（ “But how can any Catholic Congregation keep and serve the Truth when it is led by a Superior who so obstinately plays at ducks and drakes with the Truth ? ” ） SSPX を救命ボートにたとえるなら，いつも船底（せんてい，ふなぞこ）に穴をあけようとする勘違（かんちが）いのひどい船長を追い払うしかありません（ “If the SSPX is a lifeboat, either it gets rid of this deluded Captain who constantly seeks to drill holes in the floor of the lifeboat, …” ）．さもなければ SSPX は失命（しつめい）ボート（ “deathboat” ）になってしまうでしょう（ “… or the SSPX turns into a deathboat.” ）．神よ，御慈悲（おじひ）を賜（たまわ）り SSPX の目を開かせてください（ “May God in his mercy open its eyes.” ）．
